Edgar Wright Leaves Ant Man Movie

It’s been reported that writer/director Edgar Wright, best known for his work with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost/the Scott Pilgrim movie, has left the Ant Man movie over reported creative differences. The film, which has already cast Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas as the leads, was due to be a part of Marvel’s next wave of movies.

As reported at Variety, Marvel don’t believe this will change their plans for the film, which somehow retains a 2015 release date. Indeed, it appears as though they already have a new director lined up already! And if it isn’t his writing partner Joe Cornish, then this is a very strange move indeed. Wright has been attached to the film for the best part of a decade, and much of the anticipation for the feature was based on his presence behind the camera.

We can expect a full press release from Marvel shortly, I would imagine.
