Nominees for the 2014 Scottish Independent Comic Book Awards Announced

Tonight the nominees for the 2014 Scottish Independent Comic Book Awards have been announced at the official website. Celebrating independent, self-published and small press work, this year the comics see some familiar names, as well as some news ones.

Dungeon Fun is the obvious dominant force here, with the all-ages fantasy book claiming a nomination in all four categories. But it also finds competition from John Lees and Jonathan Rector’s superhero story The Standard. There are also nominations for new books including Saltire, as well as The Beginner’s Guide to Being Outside, by Gill Hatcher – her first long-form comics work, and the provider of the image above.
