Fantagraphics Offer Detail on New Lucy Knisley Book ‘Displacement’

Every year at SDCC, Fantagraphics tell Tom Spurgeon about some of their upcoming books and plans, and pass across some art – and this year that means a first look at Lucy Knisley’s next book, ‘Displacement’.

Now featuring cover art – which, uh, you’ve just seen – and a few preview pages, the book has been placed onto Fantagraphics’ schedule for early 2015. Clocking in at around 200 pages, this will be her fourth travelogue, and second with the company. This one is set during a cruise she took with her grandparents in 2012.

Speaking on Comics Alliance a while back about the book, she said of her decision to publish at Fantagraphics:

Fantagraphics has always seemed like a place where the story can be more open-ended, more immediate and raw, and told for adult audiences. These travelogues are set squarely in that sot of goulash of your twenties, when adulthood is still a very oddly fitting garment, which would be hard to share with younger audiences.

With Displacement out in 2015, immediate attention falls instead to her next release and first of the Fantagraphics travelogues – ‘Age of License’, due out in September.
