The Stumptown Comic Award Winners 2014 Are…

The Stumptown Comic Awards tend to hit a middle ground for the industry. Not as niche as the comics which tend to get the nod from critics and pros – like the Eisners – but not as mainstream as fan-voted awards like the Harveys, Stumptown tends to award the comics which comic makers like.

Which makes for a way more diverse and unpredictable ballot, typically. More companies get in the mix at Stumptown, and the comics which regularly get high critical praise but perhaps a lower audience than they should tend to finally get a bit of their due. This year saw series like The Auteur (at Oni) recognised, along with the (somewhat typical, as they’re a local publisher) skew towards projects run by Dark Horse. Comics Reporter found out the full list of winners, which I’ve cruelly culled using the sincere evil of a copy and paste: find Tom’s superior writeup here.
