Pixie Month: Enter Dazzler

Pixie has made an odd selection of friends within the X-Men, having Anole, Northstar and Armour (UK spelling) amongst her closer chums. But one of the coolest things is when she got to meet Dazzler.

In a really bad Uncanny X-Men storyline, Pixie got shunted into a “Wolverine’s new sidekick” role that didn’t suit her, and starting driving around on vespas whilst calling herself “GOTH AS HELL!” It was a strange time. In her first appearance under Matt Fraction’s pen, she was assaulted by a group of Hellfire Cult gang members, who beat her with chains and sent her to the hospital. Like I said – it was a really bad storyline.

What was nice, however, was the recovery she made. Because whilst she sat in a hospital bed, following the worst day of her life, she was introduced to someone rather special:

You didn’t believe me when I said it was a really badly written storyline did you. WELL NOW YOU KNOW NEVER TO DOUBT ME.

Pixie managed to make it through this rubbish script, and people STILL wanted to read and make stories about her. Plus she got to perform with Dazzler. That’s making a whole lot of lemonade out of some really sour lemons, right there.
